Inspired by nature and the human form, I explore both the figurative and the abstract, and am fascinated by the way in which different media alter the reality of the image. I move from classical drawing and painting techniques to digital image making, photography and textiles to challenge the materials and express my ideas.
Having studied at St Martins College of Art, I had a career as a graphic designer and photographer while continuing to draw from life, a discipline that informs all my creative ventures. Digital image making led me to explore new forms and I established St Agnes Eve textiles where silk scarves feature complex, kaleidoscopic imagery based on my photographs from nature of found fragments, magnified plants and textures of natural terrain in the British countryside.
During BEAT I will have a selection of paintings, drawings and photographs on show, with my limited edition St Agnes Eve scarves, photographic prints, sketches and cards on sale.
