Open Ealing launch their new arts venue in the centre of Ealing
Open Ealing officially launched their new Arts Venue on 7th February.
Many local artists and local business people thronged to the new venue to support Mandie Wilde and her team in their new venture - a wonderful space within the Dickens Yard development, which will offer a wide variety of courses and workshops as well as a gallery and studio space. The space will provide much needed opportunities for local artists, musicians and performing groups to celebrate their work and culture.

BEAT artist, Sarah Knight, has some of her paintings on display as part of their current exhibition. Her textured canvases are a new approach which she has been developing over the last two years.
Sarah has been creating abstract, windswept landscapes, working from memory. Firstly layering up the oil paint, with rollers and palette knives. She then works over the paint surface with pencil, linking all of her work with the common thread of colour and line. Sarah takes inspiration from textures and light in the natural world. Each piece usually starts as a reflection on a place travelled to, the memory of the colours, the weather, the atmosphere and feel of the place. Then the movement of the paint creates the forms with a certain freedom and purposefully subconscious effort. The paintings are therefore open to interpretation, indistinct, but suggestive, they could be landscapes, seascapes, troubled skies, distant horizons, depending on the viewer.
