Willow Woodcrafts

Toby and Jim - a son and father-in-law pairing have a shared love of art and craft. Jim has painted all his life, covering a diverse range of subjects - including still-life, nautical themes, cityscapes, landscapes, and more recently his grandchildren. He worked as an architect, and pursued his art more formally after retirement - earning a BA in Fine Art from the University of East London. Toby is a full time medical professional, who loves to use his hands outside of work as a way to relax. He has been printmaking for 5 years, and spooncarving for nearly three. His spoons are made from found wood - often rescued from the tree-surgeon's chipper, or spotted in local parks after storms or maintenance work. The transformation from discarded natural material to a treasured utensil is the process that fascinates him, and keeps his eyes peeled on walks with his dog. Printmaking using linocut, wood engraving, drypoint and collograph is another creative outlet, usually taking inspiration from the natural world.
