Manu Nandha

House of AEIOU all started when our founder, Manu Nandha, left his house. Lost, confused, plagued by pressures and stereotypes of what the world wanted him to be. He was never sure what family meant, never sure what he meant, and definitely had no understanding of what being part of the “house” meant.

Expression. Art. All forms of it. Equalled Chaos. His life experience with ART, with expression and individualism, scared him. Then, at 33, he found his truth. Through his experience of alcohol addiction, fertility challenges and depression he realised his purpose. Through his family’s love and support he healed. Through his culture and roots he found meaning. Through lonely dark moments, he discovered ways to express himself.

Today, our head vowel (founder – Manu Nandha), dips in and out of the surf, skate, and bmx scene to let himself go. He is a fashion designer and visual artist too, doodling wherever he goes, tryna make sense of all the thoughts in his head. He writes and performs spoken word to release and highlight his perspective on the immigrant experience. Never really English, never really a Londoner (its zone 4, get over it), never really Indian, and only punjabi on Sundays.
