Russ West
Just over 5 years ago, I began carving greenwood (wood that has not yet dried) following a spoon-carving class. Fast forward to today, and in my spare time, I create spoons and bowls of all sizes using axes, adzes, and various straight and curved carving knives. I also teach others to do the same, offering a unique blend of nature, physical activity, and sustainability. My personal focus is on creating practical art pieces and providing carving classes to promote well-being: ensuring attendees go home having made something usable from wood with their own hands - which is very satisfying.
*All my materials are sourced from local tree surgeons, making this a tremendously sustainable art activity.
