Sue Stamper-Iveson
I enjoy experimenting with different ways of representing a subject and work in a wide range of media. In my portfolio you will find oils, acrylics, encaustic wax, etching, chine collé, linocut, watercolours, metal leaf on driftwood and more.
Visual art has always been a strong strand in my life, inspired by finding joy in the diversity of the natural world. Another significant strand has been working with people in coaching, mentoring and pastoral contexts. These strands naturally intertwine and enrich each other as, for me, art is about noticing and different ways of seeing.
The world changes moment by moment, whether in a fleeting wildlife encounter, the light in the sky or the movement of water. An image may capture a moment but there is also an ongoing story within that image, an anticipation of what might happen next. My works are now displayed in many contexts. In their different situations, they invite the owners to enjoy, notice and find a resonance in their own response to the pieces and the possibilities they contain.
