Racecourse Estate Creatives
Jane has spent several years painting outdoors, and in the past has visited local areas of interest once a month to capture them in watercolour. Some of the locations she selected included Islip Manor Meadows, Northolt village and Northala Fields. She likes to make observational drawings of nature and everyday life and to show changes in the seasons in her artwork. More recently she has kept daily sketchbooks and explored the use of oils, charcoal, chalk, collage and acrylics in her work. She considers herself to be a novice starting to exhibit and sell her work in the last 2 years. She has worked with Visions for Northolt to create decorative shopping mall bench and bin pieces as part of Art Stops which is where she met Lazfar, Levi Richards. Jane likes to attend art classes when she can to develop her practice and hopes to spend more time painting and drawing.
Lazfar is a local artist and illustrator who mainly works with traditional media such as pencils, inks and watercolours. She typically creates artwork and illustrations that are somewhat toon styled but with an added edgy twist to them. Much of her work features characters, animals or fantasy themes. Lately, Lazfar has been creating a new portfolio on a worldbuilding topic of Retro Urban Fantasy that combines the fantastical with the urban and incorporates a subtle and gritty retro twist into it. This portfolio intends to showcase print ready illustrations as well as concept art with worldbuilding elements. For this exhibition, Lazfar is exhibiting illustrations that are relevant to the concept of Retro Urban Fantasy.
