Philippa Ashcroft

Intuitive, contemporary, hand-stitched art.

Philippa's current artistic practice explores expressive instincts during the slow, meditative process of hand-stitching. Working freely and intuitively, making is a cathartic process and the end result organic and unexpected.

The use of experimentation through contrasts, textures and tone, lends itself to a monochrome palette, creating atmospheric textile and mixed media artworks. Her recent collection takes inspiration from overlooked elements of nature and it's unrelenting optimism.

Philippa has a degree in Fine Art (Painting) and a background career in Props/Scenic Painting for the Film industry. She lives in Ealing with her young family and has exhibited in the UK and abroad.
