Lynda Elson
My work is a collection of mixed media pieces combining figurative and abstract elements.
As an artist my intention has always been to create a visual journey and language inspired by personal experience. In a sense my art acts as a mirror, reflecting both the visible and invisible forces around us.
An image means nothing, it is just a door leading to the next door. It will never happen that we will find the truth we are looking for just in an image, it will happen behind the last door that the spectator discovers the truth, because of his own efforts.
From Antonio Tapies
The figurative elements anchor my work, drawing from the human form and nature. But the abstraction whether through colour, texture or fragmented forms-suggests that there is always more a hidden layer of meaning that can be fleeting and difficult to grasp.
