Vivien Phelan
I obtained an art scholarship as a child but my 'Victorian' parents did not allow me to follow this field. When I retired from nursing I went to Buckinghampshire & Chiltern University and obtained a degree in ceramic and glass, since then I have enjoyed playing with clay. Mostly I work on the potters wheel to make my people, based on the English language similes and animals. Occasionally it is fun to try different ways of working.
In 2020, Vivien took part in, and won, BBC1's "Home is where the art is" series 2 episode 11 with Nick Knowles.
