Vanessa Teperson
Vanessa grew up in South Africa and came to london in 1985. Inspired by artists like Van Gogh, Rodin and Matisse she pursued a path in art and design. She obtained an honours degree at Chelsea College of Art in 2015. She works in a variety of medium, using clay, wax, resin and plaster. She paints using both watercolour and oil. Her work blends between figurative and abstract creating landscapes of colour. Her style is loose with emotive brushstrokes. In her park and beach series faceless people inhabit her paintings. Character and movement is obtained with quick gestural brushstrokes.
Vanessa exhibited at The Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition in 2015.
With a love of process and materiality, Vanessa continues doing courses in ceramics, screen printing and printmaking on textiles. Vanessa lives in London and paints in public spaces including local parks, pubs and cafes.
