Karen Helle

I am Karen Helle, the maker behind Karen Helle Ceramics. I grew up on the west coast of Denmark but have lived in London, UK most of my adult life. I am often inspired by the rugged Danish costal landscape and weather and find myself drawn to the colours of the seasons.

I use a range of stoneware and porcelain clay. My work often incorporates multimedia elements such as leather or metal wire, changing fairly standard bowls and plates into decorative and unique pieces. My work is very experimental in nature and I love to produce the unexpected!
