Aruna Reddy

I am a tapestry weaver using natural fibres such as cotton, wool, linen and silk; recycled materials such as plastics, fruit and vegetables net bags and newspapers. I run workshops and drop-in sessions in tapestry weaving and other textile crafts (knitting, crochet, macrame, basket weaving and embroidery) at West Ealing Library and Roxeth Library in Harrow. I am a member of the British Tapestry Group and The London Group of Spinners, Weavers and Dyers and exhibit with them and the Ealing Art Group regularly.

My work is about colour, texture and patterns found in my environment and wherever my imagination takes me. My current project is making cordage from cordyline leaves and experimenting with nettles and daffodil leaves.

I enjoy attending masterclasses in tapestry weaving to learn and explore new techniques. I also enjoy meeting and sharing ideas with fellow tapestry weavers.
