Andrew Meredith

For over 20 years Andrew has been a practising commercial and fine art photographer based in Ealing, working globally within the field of Architecture, Design, Interiors and Portraiture. Originally from the West Midlands he graduated from Falmouth College of Arts with a BA (Hons) in Photography in 2002. In early 2003 Andrew moved to Ealing to start working commercially, picking up magazine and commercial clients worldwide.

For the last 2 years Andrew has been working through two contrasting bodies of personal work: 'Nightscapes' and 'Walking the Westway'.

'Nightscapes' is a continuation of last years '2 Hours' series documenting seascapes and the horizon at the dead of night. Using long exposures, there is no choice but to sit and wait, peacefully absorbing the passing of time. Part of the project was exhibited at the RWA Bristol as part of the Photo Open Exhibition 2023.

'Walking the Westway' is a cityscape documentation of the A40 elevated red route running from Wood Lane to Paddington. The diverse, socially contrasting landscape photographs show modern London and its close proximity between multi-million pound apartment developments and tree lined Kensington streets next to social housing, junkyards and communities living beneath the concrete structures. All within the shadow of the shrouded Grenfell Tower remnants.

'Underpass Promenade: life beneath a motorway' will preview this year at BEAT with the culmination of 3 bodies of work coming together under the reimagined project. The project sets out to document the life, or the lack of, beneath various motorways in otherwise forgotten spaces.
