Alison Crossick

Raised and still living in London, my love for making began as a small child creating dolls clothes at home. As I grew older, visiting galleries and museums, my enthusiasm for working with clay developed. With no formal education in design, I recently made a bold career change from psychologist to maker. I combine ceramic making with my love of silver jewellery and have been honing my silversmithing skills to build my current collection (forever evolving!).

I am keen to work sustainably and use recycled and upcycled silver. I am happiest at my bench or searching markets for silver spoons and the like, to be reworked into exciting and unique pieces of jewellery. My next project is always buzzing about in my head, sometimes including porcelain and black clay and other pieces incorporate gemstones or beach glass.

Working with flame and hammers, I enjoy playing with the surface texture of the silver to create a unique piece every time.

I have recently started working with clients to produce, commissioned, bespoke pieces of jewellery that embrace our combined ideas, sometimes incorporating loved, but broken family heirlooms.
