Alex Ebdon

I describe my work as being about capturing ‘moments of magic’ - the moments that nature reveals a second of striking beauty in a landscape, where elements combine and conspire to turn the mundane into the majestic.

The British landscape is something that I’m continually drawn to. My paintings are inspired by its coasts, estuaries, fields and fells. I look to capture the feeling of being within these places and to bring to life the moments of magic that appear, often from the most unassuming of beginnings. These are not paintings of specific places, rather they are inspired by those that have formed an important part of my life. My hope is that every viewer will find their own memories and experiences within these works and be transported to a place and time that they uniquely hold special.

After studying Fine Art at Blackpool & the Fylde College, I went on to complete a degree in Psychology at Nottingham University. With this mix of passions for creativity and understanding human behaviour, I pursued a career in advertising, working with some of the world’s biggest brands and winning multiple awards in the UK and internationally.

Alongside my work in advertising I continued to develop my fine art practice, ultimately creating my own arts business in 2016, which is now the focus of my time and energy.

My work is held in private collections across the UK and internationally, including the USA, France and Australia.

I am also Chair of the Borough of Ealing Art Trail.
