The Gender Agenda Exhibition 8 March/9 April
Despite a history of art in which women are merely passive subjects, for several decades gender equality has remained one of the most relevant political art concerns of our time and continues to radically challenge social, cultural and political norms as they relate to who a man or a woman is.
The Gender Agenda explores the concept of fluidity and freedom with a display of images that may be disturbing and confrontational, but also challenging what constitutes sexual prejudice. It puts the spotlight on people’s duty to ‘perform’ gender in a way that meets or plays with social expectations of gender, sexuality and identity.
