As you'll be featured on our website and in our annual brochure, we need you to provide us with a few images as part of your application. Please read the directions below to find out how we need your images to be formatted.
Please read all these notes before uploading your images. Incorrect naming and incorrect types of file costs us a great deal of time to resolve, so we’d appreciate it if you could follow these instructions carefully.
You will upload images as part of the application procedure. These will be uploaded to, and stored in, our Dropbox folder. You do not need a Dropbox account yourself to upload images.
IMPORTANT - You must include your name (or your group’s name if making a group application) in the filename for every image you upload. If you don’t we will not be able to tell which are your images and connect with your application. You will need to set the name of the image file on your computer before uploading it to our Dropbox folder. You can’t change the name of it as part of the upload process.
For individual applications please name your image files in this format ‘Artist Name_Image Title’.
For example ‘Alex Ebdon_Morning Light’
For group applications please name your image files in this format ‘Group Name_Image Title’.
For example ‘Ealing Art Group_Morning Light’
IMPORTANT - You must specify which single image you’d prefer to feature in the brochure by including ‘Brochure’ in the filename for this image, along with your name and image title.
For example ‘Alex Ebdon_Morning Light_BROCHURE’ or ‘Ealing Art Group_Morning Light_BROCHURE’
Please note that if you do not specify which image you’d like as your brochure image then the BEAT committee will have to choose one of your images for you.
For individual applications you will be required to upload three images.
For group applications you will be required to upload a minimum of three and a maximum of six images.
Only use high-resolution images, ideally 300 dpi, with dimensions of at least 1600px pixels on the longest side
Ideally use square images, if possible
Use sharp, clear images taken in well-lit daylight conditions
Hold the camera at right angles to the work being photographed, with no frame in view
We only accept digital copies. Please do not send us hard copies
Some photos may be used, enlarged or cropped for use in posters or other BEAT marketing materials
Images provided may be cropped at the designer's discretion for use on the website, in the brochure or on social media
Photos could be used for promotional purposes on the BEAT social media channels
Please note, if you move onto the next step without uploading the required number of images, this will delay the processing of your application.
