Vinatha Reddy
Vinatha Reddy is an Indian-born British artist based in London, England. Being immersed in two cultures has influenced all aspects of her life, including her creative side. This can be seen in her choice of colors and her layering of paint, which adds texture and makes her work unique and personal. She works with acrylic and mixed media, employing techniques such as impasto and sgraffito. Reddy is passionate that her work should depict the beauty of the natural world and foster the desire to preserve it for future generations.
Outside of art, Reddy is a practising physician. She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree, as well as a membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP). In her medical profession, her tasks involve collecting information from various sources and reaching a single diagnosis. On the other hand, when it comes to painting, Reddy starts with a central focal point and then allows her imagination to take her wherever it may lead. This process of diverging from a central point enables her to alleviate the stressors associated with her demanding role and immerse herself in a self-created world of imagination.
Reddy has had the opportunity to showcase her artwork in numerous art fairs, such as the Royal Academy of Arts, Flux exhibition in London and the Agora Gallery in New York City. During the Covid pandemic, she generously donated 57 of her paintings to a local charity in London, England, in order to provide assistance to those facing financial difficulties.
Her art work has been purchased by art collectors in Europe, Asia and North America.
