Sarah Stanley Mosaics

I create original contemporary mosaics. Each work is completely unique; handmade using traditional techniques using materials as diverse as vitreous glass, porcelain, ceramic, mirror, stone and marble.

My mosaic pieces are predominantly abstract and with a very limited colour palette, using shade, tone, hue, texture, cutting and laying to create depth and interest and to emphasize the unique qualities of each material.

Beneath the Stars

Beneath the Stars

I have been making mosaic pieces for 20 years and I am continually inspired by the huge potential of the materials. Their colours, textures and the vagaries of hand-cutting mean that every single piece will be completely different – a marriage of the head, the heart, the hands and the materials.

Based full-time in my riverside studio in Brentford, my pieces are available to buy in several shops and galleries in London, Surrey, Oxford, Salisbury, York and Cumbria. I also work extensively to commission with new works recently created for customers in the UK, Europe, Middle East, Australia and North America. Two or three times a year I teach weekend workshops in Hanwell.

I am a professional member of the British Association for Modern Mosaic (BAMM) and a founder member of Johnsons Island Artists. I am also Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees and a member of the Governing Body for the London School of Mosaic.
