SansArt
Art has given me an identity, a voice, an opportunity to connect with people. With a Masters in Information Systems, I am a self-taught artist and have been pursuing art full- time for a few years now. I’m still learning and growing as an artist and as a human. I practice yoga and feel painting is meditative and healing. My vision is to create more awareness about the therapeutic benefits of art. I run regular workshops to make art more accessible particularly to adults who have not painted since school. I encourage people to connect with their inner child to re-connect with their intuitive, spontaneous inner artist.
Spring and autumn are my favourite seasons. I am from Hyderabad, South India, where the sun shines all year round, except for the Monsoon, and there is no distinct Spring or Autumn of note. My colours are inspired by the bright saris worn by women with bindis, bangles and flowers in their hair. My floral collection is a celebration of light and colours: amalgamating the past with the present.
My approach and style have evolved since lockdown. I emphasis on the process rather than the result which allows for freedom of expression. This is evident in the abstraction of my recent works where energetic and bold colours draw you in to the subject matter. My interest in art developed from a en plein air watercolour class I attended several years back in Pune, India. I still work with this medium and always carry my watercolour kit in my bag.

It is only when we are no longer fearful that we begin to create.
