Katy Hugh-Jones

My work is mainly pastel drawings and oil paintings of a variety of subjects including landscapes, portraits and still life. I work from observations from life and am particularly interested in capturing the interplay between light and colour. I have recently taken up painting again and each time I paint I choose a different theme and challenge myself to create something new, but my paintings have all been inspired by a form, colour or texture that struck me, whilst working in the studio or on walks, so hopefully they will resonate with the viewer.
