Hilary Blake Adams

I enjoy working in my studio every day. Nature is my starting point but I like to explore this through a range of subjects, styles and mediums. My BEAT project last year was inspired by the discovery of some vintage African Batiks I had acquired on a trip in the 1970's. I am still developing these ideas and have produced a number of large paintings/collages in bright earth colours, alongside the more locally inspired artwork, still life, landscape, portrait, flower and animal studies. I continue to paint British wildlife on local, sustainable wood and use recycled paintings and art materials to produce larger scale pictures and also greetings cards. I do not have prints made of my work so all paintings/collages are one-off pieces. I am a member of the 4020 Art Group which provides me with a sustained source of inspiration. I was born and schooled in Ealing and have worked in the Borough all my life, it is where I want to be.
