Gina Pierce

I am a textile screen-printer and collage artist. Colour, sense of place and history inspire my work which is abstracted for the viewer to interpret as they wish. I see pattern all around us and in how we experience the events in our lives.

Having taught textile design for many years, traditional hand processes are important to me. My designs are hand-screen printed in my Ealing studio, so each textile piece of work is original. I also produce limited edition prints on paper.

Alongside my career as a lecturer in textiles, I work as a commercial designer for furnishing fabrics and wallpapers. I have shown work many times in this country, in New York and Japan.

I have an MA from Central St Martins and recently completed a PhD, studying the use of archives to encourage creative projects.
