Emelia Jack

Born in Ealing, Emelia’s desire to draw began not long after she was able to pick up a pencil and make art in nursery. Later down the line, Emelia discovered abstract expressionism whilst studying GCSE Art, which inspired and continues to inspire the work she now creates today.

At the heart of her abstract artwork is music, and the emotional power music can carry. Emelia draws whilst listening to music. Songs which capture her imagination inform and inspire all the lines, shapes and markings on the pages of all her sketchbooks.

In 2016, she gave this process and body of work the name, ‘Dancing On Paper’, since drawing in this spontaneous and instinctive way is much like free-style dancing to music.

Her white-on-black, acrylic on canvas, paintings are the signature of her distinct and instantly recognisable style. She takes commissions for gifts and personalised pieces based on song requests, each one unique and different.

With her art and Dancing On Paper, Emelia seeks to unite music with intuition, expression and imagination.
