ABOUT THE ORGANISATION

BEAT is a not-for-profit organisation, run by artists for artists, with a volunteer committee responsible for the administration, development and promotion of BEAT and its activities. It is funded from membership fees; advertisements in the event brochure; and sponsorship.

BEAT is not affiliated to any one art group or political organisation within the Borough of Ealing and will always aim to be a voluntary organisation run by its members.

 

The aims of BEAT

  • To hold an annual event, enabling members to sell and promote their work

  • To build up links between artists and the community

  • To encourage mutual mentoring amongst members

  • To develop a local artist community network, open to all

  • To reach thousands of people in Ealing and beyond as potential visitors to our events

  • To identify and promote the Borough of Ealing as a creative and artistic centre

  • To complement the other cultural, arts and enterprise activities already established in the Borough’s calendar

 

WHO CAN JOIN BEAT?

Anyone living, working or studying in the Borough of Ealing may apply to join BEAT. Participation in the open studios event is non-selective and is an inclusive organisation, bringing together artists from diverse cultural, professional and ability backgrounds. BEAT includes artists working in a broad range of media, including but not limited to painting; printing; textiles; sculpture; mosaics; metal work; photography; ceramics: jewellery and woodwork.
