Mita Hackett

Mita uses acrylics and gouache, often in combination, on canvas or paper. Her work includes nudes, flowers and abstracts and is rich in strong colours and bold motifs, which capture the heat, light, vibrancy, and hope of the villages and markets of her childhood in early post-independence India and, more recently, her concerns about the spectre of climate change chaos around the world.
