For the last decade I have developed my approach to photography; looking for details that catch my eye in a landscape, a scene or on an object close to hand. This varies from a particularly contrasting interplay of light and shadow, an intensity in colour or a place where light is passing through, interacting with the world before me.
The camera is never far from my side on trips around the country and abroad, and it even comes with me just to the back garden. This has enabled me to bring home and treasure memories of life, and allows me to repeat my journeys through the captured moments I have seen.
I shoot my photographs in black and white as well as in colour. Each lends itself to a slightly different style; from black and white comes contrast and the relationship between light and shadow, and from colour comes intensity and richness. Whichever it is, the result is always something that gave me joy when I saw it.
